Camera Ready Copy

Camera Ready Copy is art that is provided as "black & white." It can be used to make foil or emboss dies. High resolution is a must (600 dpi or more), the quality (or lack thereof) that you give is what you will receive back.

Film

Film Positive - is our choice for high quality foil and emboss die art. Please, include registration and crop marks on film, without this guide we cannot be held responsible for wrong placement of art.

We do not recommend providing film for any printing projects.

Digital Format

Acceptable file format - we accept files via E-mail or on your disk, prepared in Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXpress. We cannot accept any digital files that were created and saved in any Microsoft program or Corel program. If you have questions on a specific program, please call. All projects must be accompanied by a properly sized color proof. Full color projects are priced and will be run as cmyk -four color jobs- , not 4 spot colors or 5 or 6 colors. Please prepare artwork as cmyk.

Bleeds

When you prepare art for the folder, always be aware of the need for bleeds in the proper places. We recommend at least a 1/8" bleed, specifically remember to bleed onto the glue tab. Please keep crop marks off lives areas or glue tabs. Failure to prepare proper bleed can result in an unsatisfactory product.

Proof

For digital files you will receive a PDF proof of Foil/Emboss projects. If you require a color proof on printed projects or if we feel that you need to see a proof, we will contact you and let you know of any additional charges that may apply. If a proof is sent overnight FedEx charges for that proof will be added. In the case that a proof is sent, all proofs must e returned, approved and signed before we can go to press with the project. This will affect overall production turnaround time.

Business Card Slits

Folders Unlimited offers a standard style business card slit. You can choose if you want them on both pockets or 1 pocket. Without specific direction on your artwork we will always place 1 set of slits, centered on the inside back pocket. Please remember to indicate where the business card "slits" go. In many cases we can accommodate special styles or placements, just let us know.

Aqueous Coating

Is a water base coating that is applied on top of the printed area. This is a good sealant to protect the finished product from: offset, smearing, rubbing and scuffing. A Gloss Aqueous coating will automatically be applied to any 4 color project on a coated stock unless UV is already specified.

UV Gloss Coating

Is a silicone based, U.V. curable liquid coating that is applied on top of the printed area. It can only be applied to SBS or "clay coated" cover stock. It can be applied as a flood over the entire surface of the printed piece, or it can be applied as a spot image to highlight specific elements on the printed piece. This add-on can greatly enhance the appeal and value of the folder. UV is a superior sealant and protectant to combat: offset, smearing, and rubbing and scuffing will add prolonged life to the product.

Overruns or Underruns

As we product your Folders Unlimited Folder, it will be placed through as many as 4 different production processes and machine operations. Because of the spoilage that occurs at each stage it becomes impossible for us to determine the exact quantity that we will eventually produce. Therefore, standard trade practice of 10% over or under the quantity ordered will be the determining factor whether Folders Unlimited has fulfilled the order or not. You will be billed for the actual quantity that you receive, not to exceed 10% over or under the desired quantity.

Production Time

All standard orders will ship within 3 to 8 working days from the point that we receive artwork that is approved, by Folders Unlimited as well as you. Please keep in mind that there are many variables in a production schedule, some are completely out of our control. The best way we can know if we are meeting your needs is through communication. So, tell us precisely when you must have your order and we will accommodate you in every way possible.

Shipping

We ship via UPS or Fed Ex Freight throughout the continental United States. Shipping is not included in the standard price. Please determine and add your cost of shipping which can be found on page 14. Next Day and Second Day Air is also available for an additional charge.

Damage - any claims against damage that occurred during transit are the responsibly of the consignee. We will provide any needed information to assist in this matter.

Shipment Transit Time - is in addition to the 3-8 working days required for production.

Changes or Cancellations

Any changes or cancellations to orders in process will require payment for work performed or for any possible re-stocking fees incurred.

Promotion Policy

For any project manufactured in our facility, we reserve the right to use it for our advertising. If this is unacceptable, please instruct us otherwise in writing before we start production.

Samples

Folders Unlimited can product many varied styles of Presentation Folders that may not be offered in this catalogue. Please call to discuss or see samples of other styles available.

Terms

1st Time Orders

Option A - We accept any form of prepayment, before we start the project.

Option B - Credit Cards are accepted. We will pre-authorize your Credit Card upon receipt of the order. And we will charge the amount of the project to your card when the project is ready for shipment. We can accept: Master Card, VISA, Discover, and American Express. COD orders will carry a "COD" charge from the shipping carrier as well.

Option C - 50% deposit before start, balance when ready to ship.

2nd Time Orders and beyond

Option A - Credit Cards are accepted. We will pre-authorize your Credit Card upon receipt of the order. And we will charge the amount of the project to your card when the project is ready for shipment. We can accept: Master Card, VISA, Discover, and American Express.

Option B - We will fax you a credit application. If approved, payment must be received within 30 days from the date of invoice. Finance charge is 1.5% per month. Returned checks will incur an additional $30 charge.
